Why is deep sleep essential? Among the various sleep stages, deep sleep is unique. It’s the time when your brain sorts through the day’s thoughts and your body heals. The problem is, we often miss out on this crucial deep sleep stage, affecting our energy levels the next day.

Failing to get a few hours of deep sleep nightly will impair decision-making, sap energy, and reduce alertness. It even affects simple tasks around the house.

A Caution About Lack of Sleep

Lacking just two hours of sleep is like driving after a pint of beer. Skip two hours for three consecutive nights, and it’s akin to driving after three pints. You can’t “catch up” on lost sleep, contrary to popular belief.
